About Us

Volunteers - a strong foundation of support - small but mighty!

Over the years, we have been gifted with many dedicated and experienced volunteers. Connections of all ages, cultures and species have joined us sharing an array of life and professional experience. We evaluate mostly dogs and cats. Included in the journey: Flemish Rabbits, Alpacas, Miniature Ponies and Horses.

Visiting teams (Animal-Assisted Activities) and Health Care professionals (Association Animal Assisted Intervention Professionals) evaluate with us to integrate Pet Therapy for intervention.

We invite you to journey through our site for educational resources, Licensed Team Evaluations and event updates.

Our history

New England Pet Partners (N.E. Pet Partners, NEPP) was launched in 2007 from our long-time passion of sharing our pets with others. As active volunteers, prior Pet Partner Instructors and Licensed Team Evaluators, we recognize the joy of making a difference (well-being, mental, emotional, health, motivation, empathy, kindness). The notion of empowering ourselves while mindfully helping others brings satisfaction. Learn More

Our mission

Sharing our pets to enhance well-being and education.

NEPP is a Regional Community Pet Partner® (#46489). We have a unique mentoring program, board directors and team members who are increasing awareness on the benefits of visiting teams that includes AAAIP (Association of Animal Assisted Intervention Professionals).

We are honored to have an enriching group of board directors and volunteers who bring a collage of valuable life and business experience to NEPP. We respect age, culture and variety.

We are small but mighty. We manage it professionally so we can do the best we can for the teams and volunteers.

We enjoy making a difference by sharing our pets and mentoring others to do that too. It matters.

Attend Events

Pet Partner Teams are often invited to events through-out the year. It's your choice what is best for you and your pet.

We attend a variety of events, including community outreach and educational seminars. We are active volunteer teams.

Sign up for NEPP Connects or visit Pet Partners to get more involved.

Spread the Word

Help us raise awareness of our kind mission by sharing our website, social media pages, and events with your friends, family, and colleagues.

No illusions here. Being a Registered Pet Partner, fund-raiser or volunteer are noble causes. It can feel good! Take a deep-nose-to-navel breath. Be aware. Know what is best for you and your pet. Know when to take a time-out! We can't learn, teach or engage with others if we, or our pets, are toasted. Enjoy the journey!

Dog Talk LLC

Dog Talk Training Sanctuary - Location for most of N.E. Pet Partners Team Evaluations

Dog Talk is where N.E. Pet Partner Team Evals usually take place unless we are contracted to travel to a specific site. The sanctuary is a 2400 climate controlled, handicapped accessible facility. It was designed to be a safe place to live and learn with dogs.

We do not offer group classes. The environment is clean and comfortable. The only distractions are ones that pups and dogs will encounter in the real and/or therapeutic world. Dogs and pups must be gently and safely desensitized to sights, sounds and smells.

However, in real life pet therapy visiting, the team will experience unfamiliar environments. Knowing what works best for you and your partner is key to choosing visiting or professional gigs that make sense. Like with us humans, this will need to be modified as needed.

The relationship between handler and pet is what Pet Partners YAYABAS (you are your animal's best advocate) is about. Things will happen! P.E.T.S. (pet contact, eyes, touch, speech) is a good acronym to remind us to be situationally aware of what's going on around us and our pet.

Everything is a teaching moment during team evaluations and while living and learning with our dogs (other pets). Enjoy the Journey.
